The Architecture behind Nordic modernism

Six months after the opening of the spectacular Opera House, Oslo’s new landmark has won the WAF Award for Culture for 2008.

The exhibition Detour - Architecture and design along 18 National Tourist Routes shows some of the projects and is a collaborative exhibition organised by the National Tourist Routes Project, the Norwegian Public Roads Administration and Norsk Form. This travelling exhibition will be on display in Bratislava between November 14 and December 4, 2008.

What happens when you combine Norwegian and Nepali building traditions? The answer is to be found in the majestic surroundings on the outskirts of the Nepali capital, Kathmandu, where Norway has built a new, quite unique embassy.  

After Bratislava, Banska Bystrica will be hosting a comprehensive exhibition on Contemporary Norwegian Architecture. The opening of 50 works of Norwegian architects will be on 26 September 2007.  The exhibition is possible to see daily from 10.00 till 16.00 until 9 October in the Hall of Emil Bellus, Nam. SNP 7, Banska Bystrica.
