Successful reopening of the Reduta building

Last updated: 31/01/2012 //

The Reduta building, concert hall of the Slovak philharmonic orchestra, is yet again open to the public. The restoration has been co-funded by the EEA/Norway Grants, and the process has been very successful. The Reduta is now sparkling, on the outside and inside, and the technical features of the building have also been improved.

The reopening was marked by a press conference on the 23 January, featuring Cultural Minister Krajcer, Director of the philharmonic, Mr. Lapsansky, and Norwegian ambassador Skymoen. Great appreciation was expressed for the Norwegian contribution to the restoration process.

On the 26 January, the Slovak Philharmonic held a fantastic concert where they played Beethoven’s 9th symphony for an enchanted audience, with President Gasparovic, Parliament President Hrusovsky, and Prime Minister Radicova among the guests.
