The Nordfest festival has been introducing the people of Bratislava to Nordic film culture since 2007. This year, four Norwegian films will be shown during three weeks, starting on 13 February.

In February 2012, Civic association Inakost organises series of cultural and educational activities called ‘‘ Month of LGBT history‘‘. All of the events touch upon past and present of lesbians, gays, bisexual and transgender people.

On August 1st, the Slovak Centre for Folk Art production – Uluv - and its Norwegian equivalent - Husfliden - opened the common exhibition ‘Clothes over Time’. The free exhibition which will last until October 20th is currently on display at the Gallery of the Slovak Ministry of Culture in Bratislava and has already seen a large number of visitors.

People have travelled along the Norwegian coastline with “Hurtigruten” since 1893. The journey is known as “The World’s Most Beatuiful Sea Voyage”. Now everybody can travel along in the word’s longest TV program! Spectacular fjords, midnight sun and genuine Norwegian scenery make the setting for a trip from Bergen to Kirkenes.

Slovak philharmony returns back to the Reduta building and opens the new era with Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony no. 9.

The Reduta building, concert hall of the Slovak philharmonic orchestra, is yet again open to the public. The restoration has been co-funded by the EEA/Norway Grants, and the process has been very successful. The Reduta is now sparkling, on the outside and inside, and the technical features of the building have also been improved. The reopening was marked by a press conference on the 23 January,...
