On 8 April 2011, Her Excellency Trine Skymoen met the students of the Business Academy in Levice. The visit, that has taken place within the programme “Bringing the World to the Classroom”, was co-organised by weekly Slovak Spectator and the publishing house Sugarbooks.
After her presentation about the gender equality in Norway, Ms. Trine Skymoen led with the students lively discussions about the role of women in the two countries, their rights and responsibilities. The Norwegian ambassador also evaluated and rewarded the students for their essays on the role of women in current society.
The students from the Business Academy presented to Ms. Skymoen their documentary about gender equality, shot in the streets of Levice.
Students’ curiosity and spontaneity in the discussion with the Norwegian Ambassador give a promising hope that the gender equality, still slightly neglected in Slovakia, will soon be seriously discussed also on the mainstream level.
