Gore and Støre to present report on melting ice
Last updated: 11/12/2009 //
In April this year, at a conference on melting ice in Tromsø, Norway, former US Vice President Al Gore and Norwegian Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Støre requested an international panel of internationally renowned scientists to produce a report on the status of the ice and snow covered regions of the world.
The scientists have now completed the report, and on 14 December it will be presented at the UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen (COP15). The report will be presented by Dr. Bob Corell with interventions from Foreign Minister Støre and Vice President Al Gore at a side event in the Bella Center. The Danish Foreign Minister Per Stig Møller and the Prime Minister of Greenland Kuupik Kleist will present a report on ice melting in Greenland at the same side event.
